Providence Road Blaze Reportedly Kills Two Dogs

Crews were called to the Newtown Square fire Sunday night.

Updated 2/18/9am: Newtown Square Fire Co.'s Public Information Officer James Biddle states that officials are investigating the fire which may have ignited from an unattended wood-burning stove.

According to Biddle, fire crews were dispatched at 8:38 p.m. on Sunday night for an initial report of a brush and woods fire. However, when firefighters arrived to the scene, the fire was described as a large barn on fire.

Biddle noted that the 20-degree weather made it especially hard to fight the structure fire on Sunday night. The following fire crews responded to the scene: Edgmont, Newtown Square, Broomall, Malvern, Paoli, East Whiteland, and Goshen’s Hershey Mill stations.
