What are the larger issues facing the township and how would you like to see them resolved?

I believe that our largest issue is the development in progress and that planned for our community. A builder said to me “you can’t stop me.” I agreed but said, “but, I can control you.” That is what we have to do, control the growth. We must be sure that plans for the future are going to benefit our citizens while being fair to the builders.

The population of our town is going to grow substantially with three large developments underway or in the approval process. There will be an increasing demand for services from these new residents. We must spend our money wisely to provide for their needs.

The sewer system will need to be extended to include those areas not covered by the current Act 537 Plan.

Would you welcome more transparency with the taxpayers? How could you make that possible?

I would like to see more people attend the township meetings. Every citizen has the right to be heard. I will encourage people to get involved. Come to the meetings, express your opinion and allow your neighbors to express theirs. We may not agree on all things, but through an exchange of views we can come up with a plan that is best for all.

Every year there are openings on the various boards that go unfilled because of a lack of volunteers. Don’t just sit back and criticize, become part of the process.  Make our township the best it can be. That is what we all want, isn’t it?

If elected, what changes would you like to see in the township or what is working well and you'd like to continue?

Recently the board of supervisors rejected the C-R Zoning proposal. They listened to the citizens and did what was best for our community. Better communication needs to happen on a regular basis.

The Comprehensive Plan is to be updated next year. Input from citizens will be crucial if we are to have a plan that is practical and forward looking.

Why should residents give you their vote?

I am a senior citizen and live on a pension and social security. Our seniors need to be represented. I know what it is to live on a fixed income and I will be careful about spending your tax money. My medical needs are covered by Medicare and a supplemental policy that I will continue to pay for. I will not need to use the township medical plan.

As a successful manager with Campbell Soup for 18 years I understand how to run a business. I know importance of taking care of the people who you work with and I will do my best to take care of all of our citizens. Communication is essential. I will listen to what you have to say and consider your input when making decisions. An accurate budget and living within that budget is essential. I have experience in accounting and budgeting. My management experience and people skills have prepared me for the position of township supervisor and I ask for your vote.
