Ways to Set Goals & Lose Weight Using a Personal Trainer

A personal trainer can help guide your fitness and weight loss goals. This article will give suggestions to help you on your way.

A common question asked by training clients is what they can do to lose weight. One of the most important things you can do even before you begin a workout program is to set a realistic goal for yourself. Always start small so that you do not set yourself up to fail.

A certified personal trainer is a great place to start. A trainer can help you target your goals and make you accountable for what you want to achieve. Just like at work, if you have an appointment you are more likely to keep it. After realistic goals are established, it is recommended to write down on a piece of paper everything that you put in your mouth.

This is called a “food diary” and it will make you conscious of everything you eat daily. With a food diary, you may not grab for those snacks that you do not need or an extra helping at dinner.

Now it is time for your workout. It is very important to stretch before and after a workout to prevent an injury. A personal trainer will take you through a total body
workout starting with legs and ending with core work. Depending on the length
of your workout you would complete either two or three sets.

A trainer will continually change up the workouts and research new ideas that will keep workouts fresh. After a few weeks, your goals are reassessed and so your
progress can be tracked. If you have reached your goal you can treat yourself
to a new pair of sneakers or anything that makes you happy.
