3000 Can Soup Challenge

Please help our neighbors in need

The Rev. Hentzi Elek and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church invite everyone  in Delaware County to support the 3000 Can Soup Challenge!

Our goal is to collect 3000 cans of soup by May 4th.

There are LOTS of people who do not have enough to eat in our area.

100,000 people per year need help acquiring food.  They make painful choices about how to pay for rent, critical healthcare, and food. Many affected are children and retired seniors who have worked hard their entire lives and now find themselves unable to make ends meet.

16-19 ounce cans of ready-to-eat healthy (preferably low sodium) soups from brands such as Progresso are desired.

All soups donated will go to St. Mark’s Food Center in Broomall, PA, and the Delco Interfaith Food Assistance Network (www.co.delaware.pa.us/humanservices/emgfood.html).

Please bring your soup to St. Alban’s Church and leave cans in the hallway outside the parish office or in the designated area outside the door.

Matching Challenge
One anonymous family in the parish has generously offered to match (can for can) all soup donations.
Double your donation by bringing soup to St. Alban’s!

Anyone wishing to donate money to purchase soup for the food pantry is encouraged to send a check payable to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund with Soup written in the memo line.  Please mail your check to:
