The History of the Jews of Spain
Sunday November 4, 11 and 18 at 9:30am at Temple Sholom in Broomall.
Through a series of lectures and discussions aided by graphics, outlines, and suggested readings, participants will examine broadly the history, culture, and vast contributions of Spanish Jewry both to Judaism and to Spain. The course will sensitize partakers to Spain's geography, historical sites, and the enduring cultural impact that its Jewish inhabitants have had on the country and society.

Speaker Bio: Jonathan Rosenbaum is President Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of Jewish Studies at Gratz College and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. A prominent scholar, rabbi, and administrator, Rabbi Dr. Rosenbaum served for eleven years (1998-2009) at the helm of Gratz College, the oldest nondenominational college of Jewish studies in North America (founded in 1895) and the first Jewish institution of higher learning to admit women on a par with men.
