FIRST LADIES OF THE UNITED STATES

Join the Newtown Square Historical Society on Wednesday, March
19th,   beginning
at 7:30 p.m. [please note New Starting Time!] at the Dunwoody Village
Auditorium for our next program and find out!

"First Ladies of the United States," presented by
Barbara Falini.

While the men who ran for president sought the post,
many of their wives were required to smile, wave, and go along for the ride.
These wives were often thrust into high profile positions and then expected to
embrace causes, be the dutiful political spouse, and perform flawlessly on the
world stage.   Some wives were
actually more ambitious than their husband and are the reason why the husband
rose so high in the first place.    One wife was the acting president for two years when
her husband suffered a disabling stroke.
