Friends of Marple Public Library to Host Reception for Guest Artist Barbara Litt

You are cordially invited to attend a reception for BARBARA LITT on September 29, 2013 at The Marple Public Library from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Whether producing her own creations or helping others discover their potential, Barbara is passionate about art. A firm believer that the studio is a place where “the round peg fits the square hole” has been her philosophy during thirty years of teaching art and academically gifted children in the Wallingford Swarthmore School District.

She received a School Board award for educational creativity and a DELCO Business Association’s grant for an original unit of study.

Retirement has not only enabled Barbara to concentrate on painting, but also bring appreciation of art to others with her work as a volunteer guide at the Brandywine River Musuem. Barbara’s graduate and undergraduate studies were completed at SUNY, Moore College of Art, Tyler School of Art, The University of the Arts, and Widener University.

Her paintings often include the human forms engaged in their environment, often with a focus on instrumental or dance performance. She also loves to paint memories from her travels. Barbara has had several solo exhibitions (including those at: Upper Darby Art Center, Moore College of Art Alumnae Gallery, Widener College Art Center, Unitarian Universalist Church in Media, and Swarthmore Borough Hall). Having exhibited in many group shows, Barbara was awarded at the Philadelphia Convention Center’s ADVAC Showcase, Darlington Art Center (trio exhibit), and on two occasions at the Community Art Center In Wallingford.
