George's After Dark concert - Vocal Motive & Mieka Pauley

Come join us for another great night of live music at St. George’s Episcopal Church (handicap accessible), on West Ardmore Ave at Darby Rd, Ardmore on Saturday, April 26 at 8 PM (doors open at 7:30).  The featured performer is Mieka Pauley.  Mieka possesses a voice that flows like good whiskey and a frankness that makes Alannis Morrisette look shy. She conjures up a sonic immediacy with the same masterful command as Ani Di Franco, with driving, yearning melodies that stand alongside the work of Michele Shocked, Neiko Case, and Emmylou Harris.

The opening act is the a cappella group Vocal Motive. Vocal Motive lives for variety, and refuses to be pigeon-holed.  They present a mix of contemporary and jazz, doo-wop and pop.  Their inspirations range from Beatles to Billy Joel, from Michael Jackson to Jessie J, from Ben E. King to Queen.

$10.00 per person.  Snacks and drinks available for donation.
