Join Us for the National Spirit of '45 Day
August 11, 2013
National
Spirit of '45 Day will be observed during a wreath laying ceremony at
the 30th Street Station on Market Street in Philadelphia to honor the
men and women of the World War II generation. The ceremony will take
place at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in front of the 50 ft WWII
memorial that stands in the main concourse of the 30th Street Station.
Keep
the Spirit of '45 is a non profit initiative to preserve the legacy of
the men and women of America's Greatest Generation so that their example
of courage, self sacrifice, "can do" attitude and national unity can
inspire a renewed sense of community in America at a time when our
country is once again facing historic challenges.
The goal of
the initiative is to promote public awareness and participation in an
annual national day of remembrance to remind America of the values and
accomplishments of the generation who endured the hard times of the
Great Depression, fought to defeat the greatest threat to freedom in
history, and then went on to rebuild the postwar world in an
unprecedented effort to help assure a better future for both friend and
former friend alike.
Please join the Honor Flight team at the
ceremony on August 11, 2013! All are welcome! We would love to see you
there!
