The Big Day at Paoli Presbyterian Church

Paoli Presbyterian Church invites community to participate in The Big Day

Come prepared to pack a full day's pleasure into a few hours at Paoli Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 8.

You'll start with a traditional church service at 10 a.m., enjoy a complimentary lunch at 11:00 and participate in hands-on service projects from 12:00 until 2:00. The Big Day ends with a contemporary worship service from 2:05-3:00. Throughout the day, PPC's magnificent choir, Paoli Brass and Praise Band will provide beautiful music. The community is invited to attend all or part of the Paoli Presbyterian Church events.

The Big Day's service projects includes activities for children and adults, such as building a backyard play set for an Iraq Wounded Warrior's pre-K son, filling back packs with school supplies for Chester children through a partnership with Cityteam, feeding the world's hungry by assembling food bags for Stop Hunger Now, and supporting the Chester County Food Bank with loving attention to PPC's organic vegetable garden.

Community members who participate will be assigned a specific hands-on project that helps families locally and around the world. In any spare minutes, you can visit PPC's charming chapel, which at one time sat at the corner of Lancaster Avenue and Darby Road and housed the Paoli Library. In 1986, this historic building was transported in an all-day move by truck to its new home at the church. On The Big Day, you can watch a short video of the move and hear PPC's own docents describe the adventure. The sanctuary of the main church will be open for meditation and prayer if you'd like to spend quiet time there.

Paoli Presbyterian Church has a rich history of community involvement and mission, having been established originally by Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn as a mission church. In keeping with this rich tradition, PPC encourages its friends in communities around Paoli to enjoy a day of service and pleasure on Sunday, June 8.
