The Friends of the Newtown Public Library are celebrating National Friends of the Library Week on October 19 and 20 in the library lobby from 1 pm - 8 pm.
They will offering patrons free sweets along with an opportunity to join the friends. They will also raffle a gift basket with products and gift certificates from local business worth more than $350. New members will receive a free raffle ticket when they join. Existing members can purchase raffle tickets. The Friends of Newtown Public Library is a an all volunteer not-for-profit 501C3 organization that sponsors adult and children's programs as well as contributes to the purchase of audiobooks, children's computers, and many other needed items.
