Volunteer Tree Planting @ Episcopal Academy

EAC (Environmental Advisory Committee) planting 60 trees at Episcopal Academy

Tree Planting is scheduled for Saturday Oct. 8, 2011 from 8:30pm- noon. Rain date is Sunday., October 9, 12 noon till 2:30pm. We are seeking 20 - 25 persons. The tree planting will take place at the very lowest point of Episcopal Academy property where excess storm water runoff could flow into tributaries of Lewis Run. It's an area approximately 30' X 685'. This is a TreeVitalize project sponsored by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

Marple Newtown Boy Scouts will be assisting with perhaps 15 solid young men so we need 10 more individuals.

If you are so inclined, please let Paul Seligson know by email if you would like to participate.

We will have holes pre-augured. The Township will be offering their compost and mulch to complete the project. Material for protective fencing to fit around every tree is being ordered.

We will be planting 12 of each tree type: Red Maple, River Birch, Tulip Poplar, American Sycamore and Swamp White Oak.

A shovel and gloves would be handy, work shoes/boots suggested.
