Obama’s Failed Distractions

Using his Chicago style dirty political tricks, President Obama is trying to distract the American people on his failed record as President by accusing Gov. Romney of committing a felony.

At a time when the American people thought that President Obama could no longer continue to disgrace the Office of the President anymore, enter Stephanie Cutter, deputy campaign manager to President Obama.

Last week while on a conference call with reporters, Ms. Cutter stated the following: “Either Mitt Romney, though his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC which is a felony or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investments.”

That’s right, the deputy campaign manager to President Obama has decided, with the backing of the President himself and many other top Democratic leaders, to bring this election to a new low.

What Ms. Cutter decided to do was a classic campaign move. By accusing Gov. Romney of committing a felony, the Obama campaign is trying to distract the American people of the poor record the President has had over the past four years.

The interesting point is that while President Obama and his gang of “henchman,” including Ms. Cutter and top Democratic leaders, try to paint Gov. Romney as a felon, I am reminded of a quote from a young and inexperienced, then Senator Obama during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

While speaking about the now defunked “Hope” and “Change” messages that ushered his candidacy as President, Mr. Obama said the following, “…if you don’t have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters.” He continued with, “If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from. You make a big election about small things.”

Oh, how words can come back to haunt someone! As we have seen time and time again during this election, President Obama knows that his record is as toxic as uranium. Specifically, a record that consists of a stalled economy including 8.2% unemployment, a failed “shovel-ready” Stimulus Package costing the American people $3.27 trillion(according to the Congressional Budget Office), and a President who has from day one, as Forbes.com reported, added $983 billion to the national deficit through various failed policies.

The attack made by Ms. Cutter on Gov. Romney is doing everything that then Senator Obama previously spoke out against. The attack from the Obama campaign is a lackluster attempt to disgrace the former Governor's character. What it has done, however, is prove to the American people that President Obama will do anything, while practicing his dirty Chicago-style political tactics, to ensure his ego is intact and win another term.

The President is correct though; we don’t want to make a big election out of small things. We don’t want to remind the American people of President Obama’s pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who became an internet sensation after stating: “…not God Bless America. God damn America.”

We don’t need to remind the American people of the friendly relationship President Obama had with Bill Ayers, the co-founder and former leader of the radical left organization know as the Weather Underground. The Weathermen (members of the Weather Underground) during Mr. Ayers' time as leader, is a self-described "communist revolutionary organization" and were responsible for conducting bombings of the Capital Building, the Pentagon, and other public buildings.

Lastly, we don’t need to remind the American people of the friendship between President Obama and his former fundraiser Tony Rezko, who was convicted on several counts of fraud and bribery in 2008.

No, we don’t need to remind the American people of the company that the President keeps. We will just continue to remind them of his failed economic and political record.
