BROOMALL–Jeff Anderson and Kim Anderson, of 10 James Road in , are continuing their annual family tradition this year by decking out their home from top to bottom with Christmas lights.

"I grew up right across the street over there until I was about 8," points Jeff to a home several yards away. "My mother was big, big on Christmas. We used to put up lights there."

The Andersons came back in 1993 at their current home on James Road and have been decking the home for the holidays for the past 10 years or so.

"I just love enjoy seeing it," says Jeff referring to all the lights and holiday decor. The Andersons decorate for Easter and Halloween as well but Christmas is their biggest spectacle.

"I think I'd still do it [decorating] even if they lose interest," says Jeff referring to his two children–one who attends and another in day care. "I just like doing it. I like the way it looks."

The Andersons have red and green Christmas lights strung across their front pathway to the home and on their back fence and shed while icicle lights hang from the front of the home and more multi-colored lights are strung across the home with a few Christmas blow-up decors of Santa and Frosty.

Jeff says he prefers multi-colored lights than plain white ones because "they just get washed out," plus, "my son likes the red and green lights." He also admits he starts putting up a few Chrismtas lights during Halloween and puts up the bigger decorations closer to Christmas.

If he could, Jeff says, "I'd love to have more [decorations] but the yard's too small."

The home on 10 James Road has been a local holiday lights spectacle for neighbors and residents in Marple and was also recently recognized by NBC 10 Philadelphia on Thursday for their lit-up home.

The Andersons will also be submitting a photo of their home in all its holiday splendor at night to our Deck the House contest, so be sure to keep an eye out for their photo and make sure to vote or upload your own decked house to the contest. Voting ends on Dec. 26.
