Raymond Gallo, 88, of West Chester and Broomall

Ray served in the U.S. Navy as a member of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT 14) in the South Pacific during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star, a Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat "V" for meritorious service in action in the Okinawa Operation, the Capture of Iwo Jima and the Lingayen Landings. Ray received an Honorable Discharge in October of 1945. Later, his team was memorialized at the Navy UDT-SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida. [danjolell.com]

Charles F. Knapp, of Newtown Square

Charles was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He graduated from South Catholic High School, LaSalle College, and Penn Law School. He spent two years in the service during the Korean War aboard the USS Ticonderoga. He was a long time resident of Newtown Square. He practiced law for 30 plus years in Media, primarily at Fronefield and DeFuria. [Legacy.com/Delco Times]

Mary "M.Q." Querida Reimel, 81, of Newtown Square

MQ graduated from the Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and attended Rosemont College. She was a successful fashion model for many years before she became the Fashion Director for Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. She was instrumental in starting the Fifth Avenue Club, which was one of the first première, personal shopping venues in the Philadelphia area. Many will remember her for her Teen Classes on “manners, make-up and style” and for her singing at the guitar mass at St. Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd. [McConaghy Funeral Home]

Mary Jane Steel, of Broomall

Mary Jane was a 15 year staff member at Dunwoody Village. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Saul H. III "Bud" and four children. [danjolell.com]
