Marple Newtown Ice Hockey Player Dies at 54, and Other Obituaries

Paul H. MacIntyre, of Ridley Park, died at 54. He loved ice hockey and played for Marple Newtown High School and a local club team, and also played for the Midnight Specials at the University of Pennsylvania Rink.


Samuel William "Bill" Gross, of Media, died on Jan. 18. Gross received Media's first Community Service Award in 2011. Gross’ father was the owner and founder of B. Gross Menswear and Gross ran it with his two brothers from 1944 until 2006. He was a member of the Rose Tree Media School Board for 17 years as well as a member of several other boards and committees. "I love Media. I love the people of Media and the people here have been more than kind to me," Gross said when he received his award. Read more about Gross' accomplishments here. 


Robert Vincent Spencer, of Aston, died at 27 of Melanoma at Kindred Hospital in Havertown.
