Last night the Carpenters' Union under President Jim McGarrity held it's annual Christmas banquet at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Newtown Square. As in previous years, the attendees brought hundreds of toys in support of the Marine Corps Reserves' Toys for Tots program sponsored in Newtown Square by the Gen. Smedley D. Butler Detachment of the Marine Corps League. Mr. McGarrity was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by Leaguer Jim Donegan as well as with a Marine Corps League Challenge Coin. Present to accept the toys for the program was Gunnery Sergeant Jesus Melendrez.
