Is the C-R Zoning Hearing Amendment Really Postponed?

To make it beyond clear that current leadership and management in Newtown Township have little regard and no consideration of the residents of the township, today, with no specified reason the following message was posted on the township website:

This is, in my view, an incredibly disrespectful decision on the part of the Board of Supervisors and Township Management if that is who made the decision. The statement does not say who or why this decision was made.  Only that the hearing was postponed to an even more inconvenient time for the residents.  Is it because of the hundreds of signatures gathered in the on-line petition?  Is it because the Supervisors want to ensure that fewer residents are available to attend so that they can make this clearly negative decision?  What are they thinking?   Who made this decision only three business days before the hearing?  After being reminded by resident Pat Colagreco that they had promised notification to homeowners closest to and included in the proposed rezoned area, the township finally did mail some letters.  Along with newspaper public notices and letters to homeowners paid for by the taxpayers and after residents provided emails and flyers and postings on Patch to ensure residents were aware of the meeting, the meeting is announced as postponed.

Is it really postponed or will it go on at the last minute if the Supervisors and Manager see that their announcement reduced the size of the audience at Monday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors?

I urge all who are able to attend Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.  I hope residents demand to know why the hearing was postponed till July. Continue to sign the online petition which will generate an email to the Supervisors.  Make is clear to the Supervisors that this hearing, should it ever take place, should be postponed until after the Summer.   If they hold this meeting during the summer as proposed, that which appears clear will be crystal.  Whose interests do they serve—clearly not the township residents.
