$1,500 Purchase Made After Wallet Stolen from AMC 10

A $1,900 purchase was also attempted but declined, police say.

A woman's wallet was stolen from her purse while she watched a movie at the AMC 10 at 400 S. State Rd in Springfield, according to Marple Township Police. 

On Oct. 6, a woman reported to police that she was inside the theater at about 3 p.m., seated toward the front of the theater and had placed her purse in the unoccupied seat next to her, according to police.

At some point during the movie the woman noticed her purse was upside down and her wallet was missing from inside, according to police, she checked the floor in the immediate area and couldn’t find it.

While police spoke with the woman at the theater she called her credit card company and discovered one $1,500 purchase was approved at Lowes and one $1,900 purchase was declined at Target, according to police.

Inside the wallet were several credit cards, a debit card and $100 cash, according to police. She cancelled her credit cards.

A theater employee located her wallet in another theater while cleaning, according to police.
