2 Pick-Pocketed While in Walmart, Police Say

A wallet and debit card were taken from the victims while they shopped at the store, police say.

Two people were recently pick-pocketed while shopping at Walmart on the 400 block of S. State Road in Springfield Township, according to Marple Township Police.

On July 19, a woman reported to police that her wallet, with credit cards and cash inside, was stolen while she was shopping at the store, according to police. She had been shopping at the store around 11 a.m., according to police.

On July 9, another victim also reported to police that her debit card had been stolen, according to police.

The woman believed her TD Bank debit card was stolen from her change purse while she paid for her items at Walmart, according to police.

The woman paid for her items around 10 p.m. and had left her change purse,  open and on the counter, according to police, the purse contained various other cards.

The woman's husband happened to check the bank account online later and noticed strange purchases, according to police, which is when they realized the debit card was missing.

About $307 in charges had been made to the card, according to police. The card was immediately canceled.
