3 Mailboxes Damaged, Car Window Smashed, Police Say

The separate incidents happened the same night in Newtown Township.

Three mailboxes were vandalized and a car window was smashed with a rock on the same night in Newtown Township, according to Newtown Township Police. 

On Nov. 1, police responded to three homes on the unit block of Roberts Road and found three damaged mailboxes at three residences, according to police. 

Two of the mailboxes were knocked off the posts and a third was hit with something and was nearly knocked off its post, according to police.

None of the victims heard or saw anything suspicious overnight and the latest a damaged mailbox was seen in good condition was about 9:30 p.m. the previous evening, according to police.

In a separate incident, also on Nov. 1, a gray Volkswagen Jetta was damaged on Boot Road, according to police.

The victim told police he found a rock, likely taken from a small nearby garden, in the front seat of the car and believed it was used to break the rear window, which was shattered, according to police.

Police also discovered dents and scratches on the front passenger side door and on the driver side rear quarter panel, where it appears the rock was also thrown at the vehicle, according to police.
