3 More Unlocked Vehicles Broken Into, Police Say

Marple Township police continue to ask that residents lock car doors even when the car is parked in your driveway.

Marple Township police continue to investigate thefts from vehicles and ask that residents lock car doors even when the car is parked in your driveway. 

An unlocked 2011 Kia Sorrento and an unlocked 2011 Hyundai Sante Fe were broken into on the unit block of Lakeview Place in Broomall overnight on Aug. 6, according to Marple police.

About $10 in change was removed from both vehicles, according to police.

However, the resident does have security cameras on his property but was unsure if the thief were caught on camera, according to police. 

On Aug. 18, a Ford Escape on the 300 block of Netherington Drive in Broomall and Nissan Pathfinder on the 400 block Candlewood Road in Broomall were both broken into in separate incidents, according to police. 

The Ford Escape was unlocked overnight and someone removed $140 in cash, a $2 scratch-off lottery winner and $25 scratch-off lottery winner and about $20-25 in loose change, according to police. 

A wallet, with about $25 in cash and a few credit cards, was missing from inside the unlocked Nissan Pathfinder, which was parked in a driveway, according to police.

At about 3 a.m., the victim told police he heard a car alarm go off but was unsure if it was his and he did not see anything when he looked out the window, according to police.
