Blotter: Burglary at Pizza Shop, Attempted Burlgary at Rite Aid

The following information has been provided by the Marple Township Police Department. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

BROOMALL–On July 18 at approximately 6:20 a.m., responded to Malucci’s Pizza in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, police found the front entry glass door shattered with pieces of glass on the ground reaching all the way to the parking lot area, according to the report.

According to the report, police discovered the rear back door forced open and mangled. In addition, the rear bathroom was found to have a hole in the wall with fresh drywall pieces and dust all over the floor, said police in the report. According to the report, the wall connects through the Game Stop next door. The cash register was closed and secure, according to the report.

Possible Attempted Burglary Discovered at Rite Aid

On July 24 at approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to the on 2901 Springfield Road for a possible burglary attempt discovered. Upon arrival, police spoke with the store manager who reported that he discovered a portion of window frame on one of the windows that had apparently been pried away from the window. According to the report, the store owner believes the incident occurred between 11 p.m. on July 23 and 4 a.m on July 24. The estimated damage to the window is $100.
