BROOMALL–On Sept. 11 at approximately 8:45 a.m., Marple police responded to Gallen Express Auto Wash on West Chester Pike in Broomall for a reported burglary.
Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee who stated that he arrived that morning at approximately 7:15 a.m. and proceeded to "do the books" for yesterday’s sales, according to the report.
The employee told police he discovered a large amount of money missing from both of the auto sensory boxes outside by the entrance of the car wash. A little over an hour later, according to the report, the employee told police he discovered that the safe in the office had also been pried open.
Upon further investigation, through a video surveillance camera, a man was discovered entering the car wash at 11:20 p.m. the night before and went through the back entrance of the car wash, leaving 13 minutes later. The man is also seen removing money from the auto sensory boxes.
Police are further investigating this incident.
