Blotter: Home Burglary Reported on Sproul Road

The following information was provided by the Marple Township Police Department. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

BROOMALL–On Aug. 30 at approximately 10:50 a.m.,responded to a reported burglary at a home on the unit block of South Sproul Road.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who showed police where an unknown person had gained entry into his rear garage. According to the report, the man told police he uses the garage as an office for his business.

The homeowner told police he left his home around 2:30 p.m. the day before and returned around 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. when he saw the lights were on, according to the report.

According to the report, the man discovered the front door unlocked and the lights on. In addition, the man noticed an Eagles banner, usually hung on a side window, was hung instead in the front window to block the view of seeing inside, according to the report.

The homeowner then went to the office and discovered a theft in the office, according to the report. Police are further investigating this incident.
