Blotter: Nude Man Spotted Driving on I-476, Slashed Tires, Thefts

BROOMALL–On Aug. 28 at approximately 12:43 a.m., responded to the area of West Chester Pike/Route 3 and I-476 for a reported indecent act that just occurred. According to the report, police received information from Pennsylvania State Police–Media Barracks advising of a Honda Civic that was being operated by a naked man. According to the report, the man had just gotten off of I-476 onto Route 3 heading westbound. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Several Slashed Tires Reported in Broomall

On Sept. 6 at approximately 7:45 a.m., police responded to the unit block of North New Ardmore Avenue for a reported slashed tire. Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who told police that he found his two vehicles, which were parked on North New Ardmore Avenue in front of his home with tires slashed. According to the report, one vehicle had the driver’s side rear tire slashed, valued at approximately $120 and the other vehicle with the passenger front and rear tires slashed, in which both tires were valued at approximately $300. 

On Sept. 6 at approximately 8:05 a.m., police responded to the unit block North New Ardmore Avenue for a report of two slashed tires. According to the report, this was one of several in the neighborhood.

On Sept. 6 at approximately 8:05 a.m., police were on patrol in the 2200 block of Anthony Avenue when they observed a vehicle in front of a home on Anthony Avenue with a flat tire, according to the report. Police were able to make contact with the vehicle owner, who told police he was unaware of the flat tire. Upon further investigation, police discovered the tire had been slashed on the passenger side. The tire is valued at approximately $165. 

Pool Pump Stolen From Home

On Aug. 30 at approximately 10:50 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of Williamsburg Drive for a reported theft of a pool/pond pump. The woman told police she noticed on Friday, Aug. 24, that the pump from her pond in the rear yard was missing. According to the woman, she stated she found the hose out of the water, disconnected from where the pump used to be, according to the report. The woman told police, the week prior she was inside her kitchen when she heard the chain jingling from her fence, which leads to her rear yard area with the pond, according to the report. The woman looked out to find a man entering her backyard. According to the report, the woman ran out to confront the man and identified him as one of her neighbor’s workers. When the woman asked what he was doing in her yard, the man responded he wanted to see her fish in the pond. 

MP3 Player Taken From Shopping Cart

On Aug. 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m., police received a report from a 13-year-old who stated she had left a black MP3 player in her empty cart when she went into the dressing room of . When she exited the dressing room, according to the report, someone had taken the cart. She was unable to find the MP3 player. Police checked most of the carts in the store but were unable to find the MP3 player.

3 Rings Stolen From Woman With Alzheimer's

On Aug. 29 at approximately 11:10 a.m., police responded to a reported theft at . Upon arrival, police spoke to the director of social services who reported that a resident suffering with dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease had three rings missing/stolen. According to the report, the rings were last seen on the woman’s fingers on Saturday, Aug. 25. The woman’s daughter reported the rings missing on Sunday, Aug. 26. In addition, the daughter told police her mother never takes off the rings. One ring was described as a yellow gold band with a black stone cut in the shape of a diamond. The total value of the rings is estimated at $2,000.

iPod Stolen From DCIU Classroom

On Aug. 28 at approximately 11:25 a.m., police responded to the building on North Malin Road for a reported theft. Upon arrival, police spoke to a teacher who told police that someone had removed her person black iPod from the docking station in her classroom sometime after 3 p.m. the day before. The teacher told police the classroom was left unlocked. The iPod is valued at approximately $250.
