Blotter: Shaving Cream Sprayed in Mailbox, Mail Tampered

The following information has been provided by the Marple Township Police Department. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

BROOMALL–On Nov. 24 at approximately 7:45 a.m., Marple police responded to the 600 block of Barclay Lane for a reported criminal mischief incident. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who told police eggs were thrown at the house, porch and mailbox. In addition, shaving cream or something similar, according to police, was found sprayed inside the mailbox. 

Mail Found Open Inside Mailbox 

On Nov. 20 at approximately 12:10 p.m., police received a phone call from a resident on Jamestown Road who reported that her mail was being tampered with. According to the report, the homeowner said her mother-in-law’s mail has been opened on several different occasions while it is in the mailbox. According to the report, the woman picked up the mail at 11:30 that morning and found a letter addressed to her mother-in-law from Pharmco Litigation Center that was partially opened. According to the report, the other mail was left untouched. The mother-in-law spoke to police who said she had found credit card statements and letters from her brokerage firm either opened or partially opened.
