Blotter: Thefts From Rehab Center, Developmental Care Facility, and Vandalism

BROOMALL–On May 25 at approximately 11:40 a.m., responded to for a reported theft. The complainant told police her 95-year-old mother was placed in rehabe center on April 24th. Since then, the woman told police someone had stolen her mother’s pink crystal rosary beads, an 18-karat gold necklace that had an 18-karat gold cross and one 18-karat gold earring with some type of stone setting.

$3,700 Stolen From Divine Providence Village Employee's Purse

On May 23 at approximately 2:56 p.m., police received a report of a theft from an employee of Divine Providence Village on 686 Old Marple Road in Springfield. According to the complainant, on Saturday, May 19, the employee had reported to work at approximately 10 p.m. and placed her purse in the recreation room of the medical unit building. The employee had $3,700 in her purse. The money was for taxes and the employee was supposed to use the cash to get a certified check, according to the report. When the employee went home, she discovered the money missing.

Windows Smashed Out On District-Owned Truck

On May 28 at approximately 10:20 p.m., police were investigating a suspicious incident on Williamsburg Drive and Jamestown Road when they located a truck owned by the with their windows smashed out. Police are further investigating this incident. According to the incident report, police had earlier investigated an incident involving three men who were found trespassing on the roof of one of the school buildings. The men denied any knowledge of the truck windows, according to the report.
