Blotter: Tools Stolen From Plumbing Van, Domestic and Criminal Incidents

The following information was provided by the Newtown Township Police Department. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Wednesday, July 4, at approximately 8:10 p.m., police received information about a Protection From Abuse (PFA) violation.

According to the report, the woman stated that her 46-year-old ex-boyfriend, of Newtown Square, was served a PFA order on June 6 by Newtown police, which prohibited the man from having any direct or indirect contact with the woman.

The woman stated that almost immediately after the PFA went into effect, the ex-boyfriend began contacting her via text message and leaving her voicemails. On June 24, the woman stated that the ex-boyfriend also approached her at the gym and persuaded her into walking the track with him so they could talk, according to the report.

In addition, the woman told police she also met with the ex-boyfrend on several other occasions after requests made by the former boyfriend. The text messages had occurred between June 29 and July 4. Police are charging the ex-boyfriend of Disorder Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense Summary.

Window Smashed, Tools Stolen From Work Van

On July 2 at approximately 7:40 a.m., police responded to the 3600 block of Winding Way at the for a reported theft. Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who told police that at around 7:30 a.m., he had discovered several tools and equipment had been stolen from inside of his work van. According to the report, the van was parked in the driveway and was last seen secured at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 1. The unknown offender(s) made entry through the rear window, which was smashed out, according to the report.

Scratches Found on Car

On June 29 at approximately 11:46 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Cornerstone Drive for a reported criminal mischief incident Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who reported that the day before she discovered her Volkwagon Jetta had numerous scratches on the hood, roof, trunk and doors. The car owner believes that a person from the Terrazza condominium complex may be responsible for the scratches. The woman reported the damage to her car to the homeowners assocation and to property management. According to the report, the woman said that there have been other times where a resident of the building has put scratches into the paint of a car parked in the garage.
