Boot Print Found On Door at Burglarized Home

Jewelry was stolen from a home on the 2400 block of West Chester Pike in Broomall.

BROOMALL–On Feb. 8 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Marple police responded to the 2400 block of West Chester Pike for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with the resident who told police she found her rear/side door of the home kicked in and slightly ajar.

According to the report, the woman checked her home and noticed jewelry stolen from her bedroom. The woman noticed a boot print on the kicked-in door of the home, acording to the report.

In addition, the woman observed that the door handle lock and the deadbolt lock were both locked but had split the wood molding when the door was kicked in by the burglar.

The woman told police the downstairs of the home appeared to be untouched and it appeared that only the bedroom was rummaged through. According to the report, the woman discovered jewelry boxes open and jewelry scattered about the room and floor of the bedroom.

According to the report, the woman told police the burglars had left the cheap jewelry but had stolen the expensive gold pieces. Police had spoken to the resident’s neighbors who informed police that they did observe seeing a suspicious black pickup truck in the neighborhood the day before, according to the report.
