Broomall Fire Co. Truck Finds New Home

Broomall Fire Co.'s Snorkel 53 was recently sold to a fire department in Louisiana.

BROOMALL–On a bright, sunny Saturday in May, 1999, the . Housed Broomall’s new 1999 85’ Snorkel, according to Broomall Fire Public Information Officer Tony Cavarocchi.

The Snorkel was purchased in April to handle the increased demands of , as well as five major highways. Over the years of service, Cavarocchi said Snorkel 53 served Marple Township with pride and efficiency.

On Friday, July 13, Broomall firefighters saw Snorkel leave the Broomall Fire Co. for the last time in the capable hands of their new owners, the Youngsville Fire Department in Youngsville, Louisiana. 

Broomall Fire Chief Carl Drake handed the keys to Youngsville Fire Assistant Chief Byron Knott and a new era for an old workhorse began, said Cavarocchi.
