What do you like about your job?
There are two great things about being a member of the BFC (Broomall Fire Co.): the opportunity to help my neighbors in their time of need, and the great people with whom I get to volunteer with.
What do you dislike about your job?
There is nothing I dislike about being a firefighter; however, it is very concerning that fewer and fewer people are becoming volunteer firefighters. The organization always needs more members of the community to sign up!
What inspired you to become a firefighter?
I'm a third generation firefighter, and I grew up around the fire house. The Broomall Fire Co. was part of my life from a very young age, and I always knew I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my father and my grandfather.
What do you like about the Marple Newtown area?
I love the small-town, community feel of the Marple Newtown area. My duties with the Navy have kept me on the move for the last decade and I realize, more now than ever, that the Marple Newtown area truly is a great place!
What do you want the general public to know about the Broomall Fire Co.?
The Broomall Fire Co. is an all-volunteer organization that provides vital services to the citizens of Marple Township and the surrounding areas, and we are always in need of more members. If you have ever had the slightest urge to become a member of the Broomall Fire Co., please stop by the fire house and sign up. Without continued participation from members of the community, our future as a volunteer organization could be in jeopardy.
