Broomall Firefighters Recognized for Service
Several Broomall firefighters were recognized for their service at a monthly meeting.
BROOMALL–Two unit citations were given out at at the Broomall Fire Co.'s monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 8.
The first citation was for Alarm #338 – Building Fire on Mulberry Lane:
For their actions as the interior crew from Quint 53, Assistant Chief Thomas J. Murray Jr. recommended that Captain Michael Ostrander, Lieutenant Michael Browne, Firefighter Christopher Carlin, Lieutenant Scott Russell, and Firefighter Roger C. Mauger be awarded with a Unit Citation. As a unit they performed skillfully and executedflawlessly in advancing on a well involved structure, resulting in a very successful outcome under extreme conditions. They are a credit to the Broomall Fire Company and to the Fire Service.

The second citation was for Alarm #433 – Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment at Reed Road and Marpit Drive:
The entire crew acted in a meritorious manner on this incident. The alarm took a lot of quick thinking, initiative, and teamwork between our personnel and the other departmentsthat came to help. The actions of the crews resulted in both occupants of the passenger vehicle being extricated 66 minutes after dispatch. Both of the occupants made a full recovery. All participants are a credit to the Broomall Fire Company and the Fire Service.
