Buick Jumps Curb, Hits Tree Near St. Anastasia

The elderly driver was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital with minor injuries.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Newtown Police responded Friday afternoon to a motorist who crashed a Buick sedan into a tree at the intersection of West Chester Pike and Radnor Drive.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the St. Anastasia School parking lot. 

The elderly female driver claimed that her brakes had failed as she tried to make a turn through the intersection, according to Newtown Police Officer Dan Dougherty. She was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital with minor injuries.

The tree sustained only minor scrapes. The Buick was towed from the scene.
