Car Window Smashed in Broomall, Police Say

Also, a woman was arrested in connection with an Old Navy retail theft, police say.

The following information was supplied by Marple Township Police and Lower Merion Township Police. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction. 

Vandalism—2800 block of Lovell Avenue in Broomall at about 6:10 p.m. on April 9. The victim reported that her rear passenger side window of her Nissan Maxima was smashed out sometime overnight, according to the report. The car was parked in the street and nothing was taken from inside the vehicle, according to the report. 

Retail Theft—Old Navy at the 400 block of S. State Road in Springfield at about 5:23 p.m. on April 5. The store's loss prevention allegedly observed a woman in the girls department who selected several shirts and a hoodie and then went to the maternity department and concealed the items in her handbag, according to the report. The woman then passed all points of sale and was apprehended, according to the report. The items were valued at $64.26 and the woman was transported to police headquarters where she was processed, according to the report.

Retail Theft: A 22-year-old Broomall man was cited for retail theft on April 1 at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd after allegedly stealing a pair of $200 sunglasses, Lower Merion police said. Store security told police they saw the man remove a pair of Rayban sunglasses from the display case, remove the sensor and place them in his pocket, according to the report. When the man left the store, security was waiting and took him into custody, after which he was turned over to police.

Theft—Delaware County Community College Main Campus at the 900 block of Media Line Road at about 6:47 p.m. on March 25. Unknown persons broken into the sanitary napkin dispenser in a fourth-floor women’s restroom in the Stem Building, according to the report. The dispenser sustained about $20 worth of damage and it was estimated that about was $2 taken from the machine, according to the report.
