Credit Cards, Change, Adderall Stolen from Vehicles

Even more Marple Township vehicles have been broken into in recent weeks and loose change has been the target, police say

Thieves continue to steal loose change and other items from inside vehicles in Marple Township. Many of the thefts occur on the same block and around the same time.

A rash of thefts from vehicles occurred in the township earlier in June where the thieves mostly stole loose change from unlocked vehicles that were parked in front of residences on the same blocks. Read more about those thefts here.

A resident of the unit block of Ferguson Ave in Broomall reported to police on July 7 that two of his credit cards were stolen out of his wallet, which was left inside his unlocked vehicle, according to Marple Township Police.

The man told police he believed the theft occurred overnight of June 30 due to the fact that all of the fraudulent transactions on the credit card started on July 1, according to police.

A Visa and a Mastercard were taken and the fraudulent transactions totaled $356.59, according to police.

The resident told police that one of the purchases was at Rite Aid in Havertown on July 2 and was captured on video surveillance, according to police.

Another resident of the unit block of Ferguson Avenue in Broomall reported to police on July 2 that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a 90-day supply of Adderall, which was in a pharmacy bag in the glove compartment of his vehicle, according to police.

The vehicle was parked in front of his house, according to police.

The victim had a prescription for the stolen Adderall, according to police.

On June 26, on the 2500 block of Parke Lane, someone entered the victim's Ford Expedition and stole some loose change from the vehicle console, according to police.

The vehicle was parked on the street in front of the house and the victim believed it was locked but was not sure, according to police.

Another resident on the same Parke Lane block and also on June 26 reported to police that four of her unlocked vehicles were entered between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., according to police. All of the vehicles were parked on the driveway.

A GPS and other items were left behind and the only thing believed to have been stolen was a small container of change, no more than a few dollars, according to police.

Police advised the woman of the rash of thefts from vehicles.
