Drunken Man Found Outside Acme, Police Say

Also, a 20-year-old Newtown Square woman was cited for having a fake ID, police say.

The following information was supplied by Newtown Township Police and the Lower Merion Police Department. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

Public Drunkenness—Acme on the 3500 block of West Chester Pike at about 1:05 p.m. on March 3. Police were dispatched to the front of the store for an intoxicated man and found him sitting on the curb, according to the report. Police spoke with the 47-year-old Chester Springs man and detected an extreme odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, according to the report. The man's speech was extremely slurred and he could not stand without assistance, according to the report. The man told police he had no one to pick him up and asked police to take him away. He was arrested in connection with public drunkenness and an AlcoSensor Breath Test revealed a reading of .218 percent, according to the report. The man was transported to the police department where an empty vodka bottle was found in his inner jacket and thrown away, according to the report. 

Liquor Law Violation—A 21-year-old and 20-year-old from Newtown Square were cited for public intoxication on March 1 around 12:30 a.m. at 23 East in Ardmore. The women were being thrown out of the club for being too intoxicated, police said. Police on the scene told the women to go home, but they proceeded to go back to the front of the building and enter the club, according to the report. The 21-year-old is charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The 20-year-old is charged with using a fake ID, disorderly conduct, and providing false information to a police officer.
