Fire-Related Incidents Linked to Dehumidifiers

Newtown Township Fire Marshall Karl Keehn reminds residents of recalled dehumidifiers due to an increased fire hazard risk.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Newtown Township Fire Marshall Karl Keehn reminds residents to check their dehumidifiers to make sure that they are not on the recall list.

According to Keehn, the fire company has responded to several fires related dehumidifiers in the last several years in Newtown Township.

Keehn said there are many dehumidifiers that have been recalledy by their manufacturers due to an increased fire risk.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to any of these product recalls or involve a different hazard with these products.
