Handgun Stolen from Vehicle, Police Say

The following information was supplied by Marple Township Police. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction.

Vandalism—2800 block of Highland Avenue at about 4:57 p.m. on March 3. A resident told police at about 5 p.m. the night prior someone had thrown a hockey ball through her window, according to the report.

ID Theft/Fraud—Feb. 26 at Marple Police Station. A victim came to the station to file a report. She told police she had received her Target Visa card statement at the end of September 2012 and noticed a debit of $315 by Dish Network for a purchase that she didn’t make, according to the report. She contacted Target Visa and filled out paperwork to dispute the charge, but days later checked her credit report which showed an unpaid balance of $1,370 from Dish Network, according to the report. She filled disputed charges again and the credit agency instructed her to file a police report. 

Theft—200 block Morton Avenue at about 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 22. Unknown persons entered an unlocked Honda Civic parked in front of the residence in the overnight hours of Jan. 31. The victim reported that a wallet with all of his identifications, suboxone and a .38 caliber Tauras handgun were stolen from the vehicle, according to the report.

Vandalism—Veterans Park on the 300 block Lawrence Road at about 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 23. Lights at the park, affixed to a stone monument, were damaged, according to the report. Someone snapped both lights at the base over exposing the wires, according to the report. The township electrician was notified for repair.
