Mailbox, Nook, Headphones Stolen in Separate Thefts

Each item was valued at $100 or more, police say.

The following information was supplied by Marple Township Police. Any arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate guilt or conviction. 

Theft—800 block of Cedar Grove Road in Broomall at about 6:30 on March 23. Unknown person removed the mailbox off of the post at the end of the driveway, according to the report. When the resident left the house earlier that morning the mailbox had been there but when he returned home at 3 p.m. the mailbox was gone, according to the report. The resident was unsure if mail was in the mailbox when it was taken. The mailbox was valued at about $100, according to the report.

Theft—Barnes and Noble Bookstore at the 1900 block of Sproul Road between 2:50 and 3 p.m. on March 19. Unknown person took a 16GB Nook HD+ off of the display counter and walked out of the store without purchasing the item, according to the report. The store manager told police it was removed by snapping off the corner of the device with the security cable attached to it, according to the report. The Nook was valued at $269, according to the report.

Theft—Delaware County Community College Main Campus at 900 block of Media Line Road at about 1:48 p.m. on March 14. The victim told police he was in class at 11:25 a.m., got up to use the bathroom and when he returned at 11:30 a.m. someone had taken his Monster Beats headphones, which he left on top of his backpack, according to the report. The headphones were valued by the victim at about $325, according to the report.
