Man Dies in I-476 Crash in Marple

The highway has reopened since the fatal crash, reports say.

A 70-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash late Thursday night on Interstate-476 in Marple Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. 

At about 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, a Lincoln Towncar, driven by a 70-year-old man, was behind a box truck when he failed to slow down and rear ended the box truck, according to State Police. 

The car became wedged under the truck. 

The identity of the 70-year-old man has not yet been released.

It was unclear if the driver of the box truck was injured. 

The southbound lanes of the Blue Route, from Route 3 to Route 1, were closed for several hours overnight but are now reopen, according to NBC10

The investigation is ongoing.
