Man Walks Into Walmart, Steals TV; Goes Back Next Day and Steals Another TV

Marple Township Police Department received a report of a theft involving a man who had stolen over $1,300 worth of electronics from the Walmart in the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center on two separate occasions.

SPRINGFIELD–On June 16 at approximately 1:55 p.m., police responded to the in the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center for a reported theft. Upon arrival, police spoke with the loss prevention officer who told police that the night prior at approximately 7:30 pm., a man wearing a green shirt and white shorts was observed in the electronics department selecting two Blu-Ray DVD systems along with a 26-inch Vizio TV.

The man then placed the items in a cart and proceeded to exit the store without rendering any payment, according to the incident report. On June 16, the loss prevention officer observed the same man wearing the same clothing and again in the electronics deartment of the store selecting items.

The man had selected a 26-inch Emerson TV and placed it in his cart, removed another item from a “spider wrap” security alarm system and placed it inside his cart as well, according to the report.

According to the report, the man then proceeded towards the front of the building, where he again passed the cash registers, failing to pay for any of the items and exited the store.

The man then placed all items into a black Chrysler Sebring and exited the parking lot on State Road. The total approximate value of the stolen items is $1,380.
