Please be advised that your name was submitted to the Police Department Honor Board, for consideration for your police action on February 14, 2012. During this time period, both Delaware and Chester County Communities were being besieged with thefts from vehicles parked on fitness and health club parking lots.

Knowing the problem and aware that our Planet Fitness lot had been previously victimized, Officer Baylor was paying special attention to this parking lot during his patrol tour. While checking the lot Officer Baylor observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle recently observed in Newtown Township and potentially a suspect in thefts in Newtown.

Officer Baylor conducted a traffic stop, and Newtown Township Police were summoned to the scene and a positive identification was made. As a result of his diligence two subjects were taken into custody, and charged with numerous counts of theft.

Therefore, on recommendation of the Board, I take this opportunity to formally commend and congratulate you for your prompt, efficient work and sound judgment in support of the actions described here.

Your actions were within the best traditions of the police service.

Therefore, it is directed that this commendation, become a permanent part of your personnel service record with the Marple Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Police Department.
