Please be advised that your name was submitted to the Police Department Honor Board, for consideration for your part in rendering aid and saving a person's life on November 9, 2012. While on patrol you responded to a medical emergency at the Delaware County Community College and located a man in cardiac arrest on the basketball court.

You immediately went to work on the man and provided a shock from an AED and administered CPR and rescue breathing until the paramedics arrived and continued treatment.

The 19-year-old man was then transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital. He survived and was discharged from the hospital nine days later. Doctors at Main Line Cardiology attribute the saving of this man's life to the actions taken at the scene by police and EMS personnel. As result of your actions the man has made a full recovery.

Therefore, on recommendation of the Board, I take this opportunity to formally commend and congratulate you for your prompt, efficient work and sound judgement in support of the actions described here.

Your actions were within the best traditions of the police service.

Therefore, it is directed that this commendation, become a permanent part of your personnel service record with the Marple Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Police Department.
