Five years with the Broomall Fire Co., one year with the Marple Ambulance Corps.
What do you like about your job?
Everyday is different. I don’t have to sit behind a desk and a cubicle.
What do you dislike about your job?
Long shifts. But that’s just what the work is in the medical services field in general and with the shift you get a long time off as well.
What inspired you to become an EMT/firefighter?
I started off wanting to become a firefigher when I was a kid. I guess it was every kid’s dream. I know for a lot of people it’s a family business but it was kind of something I always wanted to do. Through there [Broomall Fire Co.], I transitioned into becoming an EMT. It was just another side of the business that I wanted to get into.
What do you like about the Marple Newtown area?
I grew up here. There's just a hometown feel to it. It’s not real busy and everything that you need is pretty local.
What do you want the general public to know about the Marple Ambulance Corps?
Both organizations are very volunteer organizations. If the public wants to help out, they should pick up an application.
