How long have you been with the Newtown Police Department? I was hired in Newtown Township on April 3, 1998. But I have been a police officer since Oct. 12, 1993.
What do you like about your job?
I love that my office is a car; I don’t like being tied to a desk and enjoy all the different challenges that this job has to offer.
What do you dislike about your job?
The freezing cold! The only time when having to work outside is less than pleasant.
What inspired you to become a police officer?
My uncle was a police officer for years in Chester; he was a positive influence on my decision.
What do you like about the Marple Newtown area?
The people here are wonderful. I have made a lot of good friends since I have worked here. I also enjoy the landscape a lot–it’s a beautiful town.
What do you want the general public to know about the Newtown Police Department?
The officers in this department for the most part are crossed trained and equipped to handle just about any emergency you may have. Most have experience in all aspects of emergency services. The officers here normally work for many years in other departments before coming here to Newtown, and because of that we have a group of officers with extensive training and experience.
