Newtown Police Blotter: Car Accidents and Broken Glass

The following information has been supplied by the Newtown Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Mirror in Park Shattered

On Oct. 18 at 6:03 p.m., police say a mirror in Newby Park was shattered. No charges were made, but the complainant told police he witnessed four juveniles in the area riding a dirt bike shortly before he discovered the broken mirror.

Two-Car Accidents on 252

On Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m., police say there was a two-car accident on the corner of 252 and Cornerstone Drive. Police say a Subaru Legacy rear-ended a Volkswagen Jetta. Neither driver was reported injured and no charges were filed.

Additionally, on Oct. 9 at 3:19 p.m., police say there was a two car accident on the right, southbound lane of 252. Police say a Saab 93 rear-ended a Volkswagen Passat. Neither driver was reported injured and no charges were filed.

Lexus hits Kia, Which Hits Buick

On Oct. 11 at 11:51 a.m., police say there was a three-vehicle accident in the west bound lane of Alpha Drive before the intersection of 252. In the left hand turn lane onto 252, a Lexus slammed into the rear of a Kia, the force of which propelled the Kia into the rear of a Buick. The driver of the Lexus said she didn't know why her vehicle lurched forward.

The driver of the Kia complained of whiplash, but declined medical treatment. Otherwise, no one was injured in the accident.
