Newtown Police Investigate 3 Burglaries

Jewelry, computers and money were taken in three separate burglaries, police say.

Newtown Township Police are investigating several recent burglaries in the township. 

On First Avenue, a township resident returned home after having been away to find her home had been burglarized on May 31, according to police. 

The master bedroom had been gone through and jewelry was taken, according to police.

All doors and windows had been locked and there was no sign of forced entry.

Some of the items taken included a diamond engagement and wedding ring set valued at $3,200, two diamond tennis bracelets valued at $200 each, an xBox gaming system and several xBox video game cartridges, a metal lock box with family documents inside, three trays from a stand-alone jewelry box in the master bedroom and a plastic jar with about $60 in loose change, according to police.

Then on May 23, a Mulberry Lane resident discovered a burglary and reported to police that an older model Dell laptop valued at $1,200 was found to be missing from a second-floor office, according to police. 

A second computer valued at $850, credit cards and about $60 in cash along with a bag of quarters and SEPTA tokens were also taken from dining room china closet, according to police. 

On May 28, a resident came home to his 3500 block of West Chester Pike home and found the home's glass door had been broken while he was out taking his morning walk, according to police. Items inside the home were in disarray but it was unclear if anything was taken, according to police.
