Newtown Square Man Charged With Stealing Copper From Vacant School

David Haske, of Newtown Square, was arrested and charged with theft for stealing pieces of copper from the Sleighton School in Middletown Township.

EDGMONT–Pennsylvania State Police responded to a theft at approximately 7:19 p.m. on May 24 from the Sleighton School on Valley Road of the Edgmont section of Middletown Township.

David Haske, of Newtown Square, was arrested and charged with theft, according to State Police.

Haske allegedly removed several pieces of copper piping and used tools to cut and remove the piping in order to place it in his vehicle, according to State Police. Haske attempted to leave the area but was stopped by police.

The Sleighton School recently suffered a fire earlier this month from a possible lightning strike.
