One Passenger Taken to Hospital After Accident at Route 1 and Blue Route/I-476 Off Ramp

Accident drew first responders from Marple, Springfield, Broomall, Riddle

One passenger was taken to Springfield Hospital by after a Mercedes and a Honda collided in what appeared to be a minor accident at the on ramp to Route 1 South at I-476/The Blue Route.

Multiple ambulances and fire trucks were seen responding to the scene from both directions of Route 1 just before 1 p.m. Sunday. Most appeared to have been called back within a few minutes.

Emergency crews on the scene took a woman from the front seat of a Honda Accord which appeared to have been struck from behind by a white Mercedes coupe. *The woman suffered minor injuries and was sent to Springfield Hospital. First responders on the scene were not able to give Patch any details about the names of the people involved. It appeared there were two people in the Honda and only one woman in the Mercedes.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident. The scene was cleared by 1:15 p.m. with minimal traffic disruptions.
